Ferry services to Gökçeada and Bozcaada cancelled due to storm

Several ferry services to the Turkish islands of Gökçeada and Bozcaada were cancelled. The cancellations stem from adverse weather conditions expected in the Northern Aegean Sea. GESTAŞ, the ferry operator, announced the disruptions affecting travel to and from the popular islands.

This disruption highlights the seasonal challenges faced by island communities reliant on maritime transport. The cancellations impact local economies and residents, particularly during periods of high winds and rough seas, which are common in the region. The situation underscores the vulnerability of such routes to meteorological events.
