Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported intercepting and destroying a US unmanned surveillance vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC also claimed to have captured another US unmanned underwater vehicle in the same area. These actions occurred amidst heightened tensions between Iran and the United States in the strategic waterway. Earlier, NATO aircraft had intercepted a drone near the Russian border.
