Flydubai captain describes blocking axe blows from co-pilot

The captain of a flydubai flight recounted how he defended himself against his co-pilot, who attempted to crash the aircraft. He described blocking blows to the head with an axe and calling for assistance during the struggle. The co-pilot's actions were reportedly aimed at deliberately bringing down the plane.

This incident highlights the extreme vulnerabilities within aviation security, even on commercial flights. The captain's bravery averted a potential catastrophe, underscoring the critical role of pilot training and immediate response in mitigating onboard threats. The event raises questions about psychological screening and the protocols for managing such unprecedented mid-air assaults.
