Egypt's parliament is set to convene an emergency session to discuss authorizing military support for Saudi Arabia. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi requested the session following escalating Houthi attacks on the kingdom. The Egyptian Defense Council has already pledged "all forms of support" to defend Saudi Arabia.
This move signals Egypt's alignment with Saudi Arabia amid regional tensions. The Houthis have previously warned Cairo against military intervention. The parliamentary debate will determine the extent of Egypt's potential involvement in the conflict, which has significant implications for regional stability and the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
