Powerful 7.0 magnitude earthquake hits Tibet, killing at least 16

A powerful earthquake measuring 7.0 magnitude struck Tibet, resulting in at least 16 fatalities. The tremor occurred in a mountainous, sparsely populated area of northeastern Tibet. Hundreds of homes reportedly collapsed, and rescue operations are underway.

The region is prone to seismic activity due to its geological setting. The earthquake's impact highlights the vulnerability of communities in remote areas to natural disasters. The loss of life and destruction of property underscore the challenges of providing aid and support in such environments.
