Death toll rises to 10 in Istanbul and Kocaeli floods after last missing person found

The death toll from recent floods in Istanbul and Kocaeli has risen to ten. Search teams recovered the bodies of Haşim Ciritlioğlu and Ahmet Derin, who had been missing following heavy rainfall. The recovery of Derin's body in the Golden Horn concluded the search for those lost in the Ayazağa district.

These incidents underscore the vulnerability of urban areas to extreme weather events. The recurring nature of such floods in the region points to challenges in infrastructure and urban planning, particularly in densely populated areas. The loss of life highlights the ongoing need for effective disaster preparedness and mitigation strategies.
